Kim Jacobs, daughter of the late Bishop Elijah Jackson and Ella Spratley, was raised by her single mother in a housing project known as "The Bottom" in Newport News, VA. Kim is the Mother of five children; Frank Jr. (27), Ivan (23), Gabriel (12 forever), Jeremiah (19), and Jayla (16). Her 12-year-old son, Gabriel Michael Jacobs, passed away unexpectedly on April 9, 2015, due to a heart defect. Gabe was 5'10, had a very commanding presence and a huge heart. He was known as "Guardian Gabe," the anti-bullying mediator at his school. In honor of Gabe, Kim founded Gabe’s Heart Foundation to raise funds to place Defibrillators in public spaces where young people congregate. She ensures that he is smiling from Heaven by “Doing it Gabe’s Way” Random Acts of Kindness.
